Lifetime Memories

Every 66 seconds someone in the United States develops Alzheimer’s. It takes a devastating toll, not just on those with the disease, but entire families.
I know. My family has been dealing with the harsh emotional realities as my mother — and best friend —Carole has struggled with the disease for a little over six years.
To try and do my part in the fight, my website The Ruden Report has teamed with The Blind Rhino for a fundraiser on July 28. All the proceeds from the night will benefit The Nantz National Alzheimer Center.
It was started by award-winning sports commentator Jim Nantz, a good friend. When we first suspected something was wrong with my mother, Jim was my first phone call and he started the process to getting her the proper care.
The NNAC, at Houston Methodist Hospital, is dedicated to funding innovative diagnostic discoveries for early and accurate detection of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementing illnesses in hopes of one day finding a cure (www.nantzfriends.org). The NNAC also focuses on the possible connection between concussions and other traumatic brain injuries in athletes and the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. Nantz’s father, Jim Nantz Jr., suffered from the ravages of Alzheimer’s disease for 13 years.
I have set up this page for those unable to attend the fundraiser who would still consider offering their support, whether with a donation or simply sharing this on social media. It will bring us closer to our goal and ultimately impact the lives of those affected by this disease.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave
