We plan to keep fundraising, so as to help as many families affected by SCID as possible. We have already been able to help another family, whose child is in the process of receiving stem cell therapy and who were in financial difficulties.

Just before Christmas, 6-month-old baby Juniper, was diagnosed with a rare and life-threatening genetic condition known as SCID, or Severe Combined Immunodeficiency. This has left Juniper with no immune system, therefore the inability to fight off infection. Specialists in Crumlin hospital have explained to her parents, Jessica and Sean, that she will need to travel to the UK for a bone marrow transplant. The treatment plan to save Juniper’s life will require the family to stay in the UK for up to six months. During this time, as family and friends, we want to alleviate any financial pressure for her parents while they embark on this difficult journey.
How we plan to Help
As there are no charities or supports for families of children with SCID in Ireland, we have set up this GoFundMe to alleviate financial pressure for Juniper’s parents. The costs that will be incurred during the next year will be extensive, while they remain close to their daughter’s hospital bed 24/7. To support them during this extremely difficult time you can donate to this cause through this page, by hosting a fundraiser, saying a prayer, sending positive energy and sharing this fundraiser far and wide.
The target we have set aims to provide accommodation, flights and living costs for the family. However, should they not require all that is fundraised, the remaining funds will be donated to support other families affected by SCID.
We also endeavour to raise awareness about this rare condition, as early intervention is key. We will keep this page updated with Juniper’s progress, fundraiser’s in the area and how you can help to campaign.

We’d like to acknowledge how devastating it was to receive the diagnosis and while our focus is on getting Juniper better, we would also like to create awareness about SCIDs, as the earlier it is diagnosed the better the outcome.
It’s not going to be an easy journey but we have such an amazing family and friends to help us through this. Juniper is also a fighter, with the biggest character and we have no doubt she will be the one keeping us going throughout.
