Life Stability + Moving for Safety

My name is Crystal (on the right; details about me under the sunflowers if you want them), and I'm raising money to cover my friend G's (that's her loveliness above on the left) first few months of expenses at her new place.  She's a black trans woman and her area of residence in Florida has become markedly unsafer for trans women since the beginning of the year.  We both fear for her safety and are working on getting her set up in stable, safe housing.  I have covered the down payment on her new place as well as her travel, but I need collective assistance to make sure she's financially secure while she looks for work.

I am committed to helping G as a friend, and as a part of my broader commitment to paying reparations to black folks, particularly black trans women.   I hope you will assist her with me.

All funds will go toward G's living expenses including rent, utilities, food, furnishing, laundry, medical payments.  The goal is to raise enough to cover at least three months, which is on average how long it takes a person to secure a job in the US today.

In case you'd like info about me as the organizer of this campaign: my name is Crystal Liu, I graduated from Yale University two years ago with two B.A.s, one in Theatre Studies and the other in Anthropology.   I'm a second generation Chinese American woman and I'm not a full-time organizer or anything, I just give a **** about folks and try to put substantial, sustainable effort toward individuals' cases one or a few at a time.  I pull support from the collective community of folks who care from time to time, with the understanding that money is tight for everyone.  I'm based in the Bay Area and split my time between theatre education, theatre production, performing, and supporting/making stuff with my weird artist friends.   I'm doing fine and I want those I care about to be fine as well.
