Life saving surgery for my sister

My names sam mason, I’m writing this about my eldest sister Katie turner. This isn’t something I wanted to do i have always been too proud to ask anyone for help even when I’ve needed it most. But this involves the life of a loved one so it’s the only option I’ve got at the moment.
Our father passed away when katie was only 12. When our mother died from breast cancer in 2004 at age 20 Katie quit her studies at university to work full time and take on full custody as legal guardian to me and my brother. She made this sacrifice so that we could stay together as a family and not be sent away to foster homes.
Katie is now 35 and has two beautiful children. ☺️ Little Aubrey is 8 weeks old and Mason is 3 years.
Last week Katie was diagnosed with stage 2 Lipoedema a painful disease that will require expensive surgery. The medical costs will greatly exceed what our family can afford. Without this surgery Katie does not have a chance of beating this illness. I wish I had the money I would pay for it myself and it kills me begging for donations. It took great convincing from my closest friends to write this story for help.
Without her I don’t know where I would be today. She threw away her career to keep a roof over our heads and put food on the table. I was able to complete school and finish a plumbing apprenticeship which is only possible because of what she did for us. I am forever in debt for what she did for us at such a dark time. I don’t want my niece and nephew to have to endure any sort of pain or suffering while they’re growing up. I don’t want their only memories of their mum to be watching her struggle and her body slowly deteriorating.
