Life Enrichment for 9 yr old Brynn
Donation protected
Brynn is 9 years old. She has a condition called Dravet Syndrome. Dravet is a rare lifelong form of epilepsy. She has 100's of seizures a day. She was diagnosed at age 1. There is no cure. She suffers from prolonged and frequent seizures, behavioral and development delays. movement and balance issues, orthopedic conditions, delayed language and speech issues, growth and nutrition issues, chronic infections, sensory integration disorders, disruptions of the autonomic nervous systems (which regulates things such as body temperature and sweating.) She's had multiple surgeries, such as feeding tubes and a balloon button. At age 5 she got a vagus nerve stimulator. Age 6 came with brain surgery and a new stimulator.
She requires special equipment - for a brief period she had to wear a helmet due to drop seizures, special sunglasses, cooling vests, back brace, ankle braces. She requires a large stroller/wheelchair because walking more than 5 minutes is a challenge.
GOALS:
We would like to be able to get her a service dog to help detect her seizures but also for emotional support as well.
