LGBT.net - Our LGBT Community Needs Your Support to Become a Florida Non-Profit Corporation! We need to raise enough to begin the process of making LGBT.net a 501(c)(3) tax deductible organization. We are seeking $2,300 to cover filing and legal advice fees from within our LGBT community to support our community! If each of our members were to contribute as little as $10 each, we would easily reach our goal of becoming a Non-Profit Organization. Do you have $10 to put forward to a much bigger cause?
We just barely meet our goals each month and often miss important deadlines due to lack of sufficient funding. Many of our donors have stepped forward and stated that if we were a full non-profit organization they would increase their monthly contributions. Total fees for incorporating as a 501(c)(3) tax deductible organization could be as much as $2000. Yet we may break these fees down in to small parts and reach each goal one at a time. Total fees depend on yearly revenues.
Currently the minimum cost will be $600 to start the process as our revenue has been under $40,000 per year. The remainder of the contributions we seek will go to cover legal advice fees. Overages will go toward hiring content writers for the blog. If only 60 of our LGBT Community members were to contribute $10 we can get the process started. Do you have the ability to contribute $10 and share our campaign on your social profiles?
Due to the nature of fundraising vs selling products, we are looking to restructure our finances to reincorporate as a full 501(c)(3) organization. Would you be more interested in donating if we were a tax deductible foundation? We also need to reach out for corporate sponsorship. If you have the means to help us, please start now!
As a tax deductible organization we would be able to better support our community when special circumstances occur. Our community is growing and your support is important to many in need of a place to share a voice.
