Let's help our Peruvian brethren

My name is Angela Watson . I'm a mother of 4 beautiful children. I currently live in Charles Town, WV. I am from the beautiful country of Peru.
The reason I setup this gofundme account was that I wanted to reach out to people and help bring awareness of the emergency that is going on throughout Peru, the country I was born and where my family still lives. There is a lot of flooding to places that do not normally get this much rain, most of the coast region from Piura to Lima. Because of this there is thousands of people who have lost their humble homes, animals, belongings and even their own lives. Our country is definitely not prepare for such a heavy rains and mud
, so there have been so many floods destroying things everywhere . The situation is not getting any better. There are many people who do not have places to live, clothes, food , electricity, and water to drink. I have watched the news and seen the people looking desperate as well as talking with my family who are there living in the conditions due to the flood. This situation is more than the government can handle by themselves with the limited resources they have.
It has broken my heart as I have watched the Peruvian news and seen the great need of those in my home country. I wanted to do my part to help those who are in need from here in the US. My hope is that I can collect money to send to Peru to contribute to the relief effort that is just getting started. This way we can all be one and help this nation. Peru is a beautiful country and once the Inca empire, a big producer of many wonderful food like quinoa, maca, wheat between others .
Let us be one to help Peru. Any little bit would help. My promise is to keep everyone that would like to donate to this cause, updated on where the money goes to help in the relief effort. I just couldn't standby and watch those from my country in need and not try to help.
Update: The funds will be sent to Peru and given to the Lions Club organization in Trujillo, Peru who will use the funds to purchase needed water, food, and medicine for those who have been affected by the flooding. The contact from the Lions Club I am working with is a friend who I have grown up with. He has been working to house displaced people as well as get water, food, and clothing.
Also, the funds will be transfered through family members to Peru, to make sure that all money that is donated is spent on the water, food, medicine. My father will be with the Lions Club as the supplies are purchased and then delivered. We will be covering the money transfer fees to get the money to Peru and not using the donated money. So all money that is received from Gofundme will be used for supplies.
We appreciate all the support given to Peru, through us or another way. It is wonderful to help others in their time of need. Thanks so much in advance.
