The drums of war are on the horizon. As the army prepares for battle so to do the Masters, Mistress and teachers of artisan row. However one of these Masters need the help of anyone who can spare a bit of money or time.
The Great Machine is a a 16th C blacksmith shop demonstrating period power-tools. About 10,000 lbs of equipment, the prime mover, or motor, is an 8 foot dog powered tread wheel. It powers a grinding wheel, a Da Vinci power hammer, and bellows. It is 2 story, just like many period shops. The top is the living space while the lower level is the work area. There will be classes and lots and lots of demos all week long.
The Great Machine is being prepared to travel to Deep South to the battle known as Gulf War, But the machine has out grown it meager beginnings and also its trailer. It will require a semi truck and trailer to transport it this distance. The cost for the rental of the semi and driver will be $3600 to make the round trip for Gulf War.
