It has been confirmed that Rachel Marks, a 29-year old dedicated wife & mother of 3 young girls, (ages 4 & under) has breast cancer. Rachel is the wife of Brad Marks; sister of Gabe Creason, Amanda Reitz, Erin Fuhr, Whitney Dean; and the daughter of Chris Creason and Kathie Reis.
Rachel has been going to school to finish her Masters’ to be a Nurse Practioner and currently has a 4.0 grade-point average. She was 1 week away from finishing this semester – when the news of this tragedy has abruptly brought everything to a screeching halt.
Rachel has been working as an Emergency Room Trauma Nurse at a local Hospital. With 3 small little ones, it has been her husband, Brad, who stays home with the kids while she works. She is the sole bread-winner for the family.
This news comes with sudden shock and disbelief. But the reality is that a young and beautiful wife & mother of 3 must undergo the necessary steps to treat this aggressive disease.
Rachel will begin chemo on Thursday, September 6, 2018. It will continue for 5 months, and then she will have to undergo a double-mastectomy; followed by radiation treatment.
Needless to say, Rachel has had to stop working. With 3 small children it is impossible for her husband, Brad, to work, as he is attempting to accompany her to appointments and/or stay with the children. This has brought their household income to $0.00 – A COMPLETE STANDSTILL.
To make matters worse, they did not have health insurance on themselves, only the children. Now with this diagnosis, she cannot obtain insurance because it would be a pre-existing condition.
We are calling out to reach everyone who could offer a loving financial contribution to assist her and the Marks family to keep afloat. The ship can only take on so much water before it sinks.
Whether you know Rachel and family personally; or through a friend of a friend; or through a relative or neighbor – LET’S STAND BY RACHEL MARKS. She is a strong woman and will get through this but needs the help & support of her dearest family & friends. She has taken on a new perspective and is determined to be a cancer survivor and later direct her nursing career towards oncology, further helping other women with breast cancer. MEANWHILE, SHE NEEDS OUR IMMEDIATE HELP.
If 100 people can give $100 (or more) we can collect a minimum of $10,000 to assist with living expenses for the loving and courageous Marks family. We don't have an exact number on how much will be needed, as this will be an on-going process. It is a small gesture to show our continuing love & support.
