H.E.R.O. Guyana Mission Trip

This summer I and 4 other UMD students will be traveling to Georgetown, Guyana on a medical mission trip with H.E.R.O UMD to provide medical care to the underprivileged families and children around the capital as well as the old mining city of Linden. We will travel with a team of physicians, nurses, and physician assistants, volunteers, and other students from across the nation with the same goal to help those in need. We hope to raise awareness of those who lack adequate health care and resources as well as educate the locals there on how to promote good hygiene, sanitation, and ultimately good health. I hope to not only provide service and give back to the less fortunate but also to learn and grow as a citizen of the world under the guidance and supervision of the medical staff accompanying us. The trip will be fairly expensive, however I'm super excited to go on this trip and I would be extremely grateful for any donations at all towards my campaign!
