Lenora's Food and Medical Expenses

Lenora Rogers, an author and blogger from Cullman, Alabama, has been living under the shadow of a debilitating and isolating illness now for several years.  In 2016, after difficulties with eating and some other persistent gastrointestinal problems, Lenora went to have a gastric bypass.  In the process of this, tests were done, and she was found to have gastroparesis.

This condition led to further complications and problems as time went on.  Complications have included a further diagnosis of hemochromastosis, a disease stemming from an oversupply of iron in the blood, as well as malnourishment and dental issues all stemming from the original gastroparesis. 

Currently, Lenora says, "I am malnourished and housebound; on a feeding tube 20 hours a day and receiving IV fluids twice a week at home."

She needs funds to cover basic living needs such as groceries and essential household items, which she has neither the money nor the physical ability to get out and get for herself.  She also needs money for medications and to assist with copays on doctors' visits to continue what has already been a long road out of the darkness of these medical difficulties.

These spiraling health difficulties have turned Lenora's life from a once-normal and productive world of daily achievements (including the beginnings of a career as an author) and visits with friends into a daily existence of simple maintenance of physical function.  The funds provided by this campaign will help to restore the life and vitality of a woman who merely wants the chance to get her life moving forward again after a series of setbacks that were not of her own making.
