Lending Libraries for Sterling, IL

Hi my name is Makinley Klingenberg. When I was going to school at ISU I noticed little house/boxes that held books that anyone could take and read and in turn leave one for someone else. They are called Lending Libraries or Little Free Libraries. I thought this was wonderful as I have a love of books. When I got home to Sterling, I remembered the Lending Libraries and thought how great it would be if we could set some up around town. Since looking into it I have noticed some of the schools in this area have a version of a lending library but I want to make it available to the whole city. 
     I am setting a goal for $500. I would like to build these libraries from scratch and tailor them to the environment they are put in. Some ideas are along the river walk, by the hospital, and in some of the popular parks. I believe this amount will be enough to get the Lending Libraries started in Sterling!
     I think these libraries would provide a excellent community bond and make it easier to get a hold of books that may not otherwise be available financially.
     I hope we can gather some support and make Sterling an inspiring place to live!
