Land's End to John O' Groats Cycle

I am going to take on the challenge of a charity cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats (UK). This is both to honour my uncle who passed away of cancer in 2016 and to see how far I can push myself whilst also supporting the vital work of the Marymount Hospice in Cork

Pictured above is my arrival at Malin Head (Co. Donegal, Ireland's most northerly point) from Mizen Head (West Cork) after a 6 day solo, unsupported ride in summer 2013. Taking on such a ride again but on a much larger scale has been an ambition for several years.

The ride itself begins on June 12 and will last 12 days without any rest days. I will be cycling in a group of 25 or so cyclists. An average distance of 85-90 miles will be covered each day. Mechanical support and help with accommodation and meals is provided by the organiser 'Discover Adventure'.

I have nominated the Marymount Hospice in Cork as the charity I would like to support. They provided assistance to both my uncle as well my own immediate family in the final few weeks of his life. 

Funds raised will go to help other families in difficult situations with illnesses such as cancer. 

All monies raised (barring GoFundMe's fee) will go directly to the hospice. I have paid my own travel costs to Discover Adventure (the trip organiser) already.

Marymount Hospice are aware of my cycling trip and the fundraising campaign assosciated with it.
