As Firefighters, we answer the call without hesitation whenever called to duty. There is no emergency too big or too small for us. However, when it is one of our own, the call becomes personal. This was the case with one of our own.
Recently, one of our own needed us and we were there for him. Our brother, Rick Pride, suffered a medical emergency that required us to do what we do best! And thanks to the valiant and courageous efforts of the men and women of Lehigh Acres Fire Control & Rescue District, they were able to prevent a tragedy and provide treatment and transport for Rick to Gulf Coast Medical Center. Here the amazing staff has provided excellent care with specific intention as Rick continues to battle for his life.
During these times, many people reach out to help in any way they can. We have seen great support from the Fire community as they are all ready to assist their Brother Rick and his family. Many have donated their time while others have offered to assist with the financial burden that always accompanies events like these.
We now ask for anyone willing and able to make a charitable contribution to Rick Pride and his family to please do so to his GoFundMe account set up through our I.A.F.F. Local 1826. All proceeds will benefit Rick and his family directly. Any contribution is greatly appreciated. Rick’s wife Lisa Thompson will be accepting all funds recieved on behalf of Rick as the beneficiary of this account.
