The Legend of the Pink Elephant

Hello my name is Luckner "Lucky" Bruno . I am the creatror of “The Legend of the Pink Elephant” is a circus, theater, dance musical that will premiere this September on the Main Stage of @ Miami Theater Center. This show tells the tale of the Pink Elephant using stilts breakdancing , extreme acrobatics, aerial artistry and giant puppetry . This show also has an original musical score created by Luciano Stazzone . A phenomenal artist who’s resume includes work with Shakira, Gloria Estefan, and J Lo .
Set a long time ago , deep in the African Congo, our story is about a little elephant that was born different . He was born pink. This scared the other elephants of the herd. It was something that they’d never seen before. The other elephants saw his pink color as a threat, and because of their fears they bullied the pink elephant out of the herd. He runs away . The Pink Elephant wanders deep into the jungle, so deep that he loses his way. Exiled, alone, and lost the little pink elephant runs into a host of colorful, vibrant , and interesting creatures. The creatures have no fear of his pink hide, in fact they love him for it. In time , the creatures get the pink elephant to love and accept his difference . He becomes a new elephant and decides to go back home. When he returns home he finds his jungle in ashes and his herd broken up. His Family is being hunted by humans for their teeth. Armed with what he learned and a new confidence he decides to take the humans on.
This show is for anyone who has ever been made to feel like they don't fit in. This is for anyone who felt they had to change who or what they are just to fit in. I wrote this show for anybody that felt that they needed to change how they looked, dressed, talked, how they behave, what they believe , there traditions just to make everyone else around them feel secure. Different is not a crime. One needs only turn on the TV, computer, or smart phone to see someone suffering becuase someone else does not like their difference. There are about 7 billion people on earth. We are all human but we do not all treat each other the same. We use skin color, religion, gender, borders, age, who someone loves, where someone goes to the bathroom and a slew of other superficial excuses to be in-human to one another. Even in the best cases we only tolerate difference, because we don't understand it. We should embrace difference. This is a message that I feel is important for young and old alike.
