Legal fund for Los Angeles climate rebels

On April 22, 2019 , Earth Day, Extinction Rebellion L.A. (XRLA) celebrated by occupying the iconic globe at Universal Studios. Two activists scaled the globe and waved the internationally known XR hourglass flag as another glued himself to the sculpture's guardrail and "died" in the blood red water of the "ocean" below the spinning globe. All the while XRLA members distributed leaflets calling on Hollywood to lead rather than ignore our planet's fate due to the effects of global warming and their continuing onset.
It was a heady day, XRLA received press from London to San Francisco (and more places we are being made aware of hourly) and kudos from XR cells from Bangladesh to Ireland. It, and the week of preparation leading up to this announcement to Los Angeles that XR is here to stay, was a costly action. The greatest expenses pertain to legal needs; representation, obligations paid the LA County Sheriff's Dept for bail, court fees. This work is serious.
We have been shut out of our non-profit fiscal sponsor donor site and have no access to the monies contained there. We are paying all of this and the costs of printing our newspaper The Rebellion Recorder, printing flyers, developing and hosting our site at xrla.org out of members' pockets. It's a lot to shoulder on our own.
Any help you can offer financially will be greatly appreciated in offsetting all of these costs, costs that were required to get such a great statement out to L.A. and the nation. The sooner the better, we are not wealthy people but we are people with a great respect for what XR is awakening in the world. We aim to be a beacon for everyone concerned about our future on a warming earth and no individual's contribution will be taken for granted.
