Lee's Champions Against Cancer

Anyone that knows Lee, knows he is friendly, stubborn, opinionated, analytical, innovative and down right amazing. Lee would do anything for just about anyone, and for him to get cancer - well, it just SUCKS!
Now, I am sure at some point after reading this, Lee will be calling me to inform me that I have this data and these facts wrong in some manner (wink wink Lee!), but according to Lee's own facebook post he said, it all started in March 2018, when Lee had a sore throat that wouldn’t seem to go away. By April, the CT scans and meetings with docs determined in fact it was the dreaded C word. By May, the docs installed a chemo port, pulled some back teeth that radiation would damage beyond repair and they gave him a feeding tube. As if that wasn't enough - more teams of docs poked and prodded Lee to try and understand the type/cause/plan/expectations with what is determined to be stage 4 neck/throat/tonsil cancer that was caused by HPV (which according Docs, Lee probably got in his teens -no need to panic… the doctors said in most people that have it, don't even know and it never does or causes anything…) By the end of the summer, Lee was well on his way to receiving daily radiation treatment and 3 mega-doses of chemo. (and BOY was he tired...) By September, he was to be in "recovery " but he certainly wasn't feeling any better.
Sadly, the recent October PET scans disappointingly revealed the cancer was still there which explains why Lee wasn't feeling better, but also means an even more difficult journey is ahead for him, his devoted wife Tandi, their kids Allie, Trevor and little Charli, and his parents Joan & Charles, his brother Andy and all their extended family.
In the next few weeks, Tandi will be taking time from work ~and her paycheck~ to by Lee's side daily, as he has a major surgery followed by a long and difficult recovery. Tandi will be driving back and forth to Levine daily for 7-10 days while juggling and managing Charli too. While their family has many family members and friends across many states, it's not easy to make them meals (Lee can't eat right now anyway...) or bring them hugs. Many of us desperately want to help and so we are launching a way for people to donate to a fund we are calling "Lee's Champions Against Cancer" which will help cover the next few weeks as they pay for gas, bills and endless medical bills. Whatever amount you can donate, big or small - it is greatly appreciated!!
Together, we can all support Lee and Tandi to continue to stay strong, fight the fight and remain positive!
