Did you know that Green Street Rescue has been saving Philadelphia felines for over 13 years? In March 2016 we opened our very first adoption platform, Le Cat Café at 2713 West Girard Avenue. Since it opened, our number of adoptions skyrocketed. Just last year we rescued 411 cats and adopted out 198! The space has proven to be an invaluable tool to help us find loving FUR-ever homes for sweet felines. With the greater visibility that the Café brings to GSR, our “rags to riches” stories continue to increase.

But the Café is in jeopardy and without your help, we risk losing this space if we’re not able to raise $60,000 by December 1, 2017. We are trying to raise $10,000 of this online. This amount will not only make much needed repairs, but all so secure our lease for 2018.  Your gift of any size can help.

GSR is entirely run by volunteers and fully funded by generous donors. We are constantly seeking contributions to help with trapping, food, vaccines, emergency doctor visits, litter, cleaning and laundry supplies, treats, toys, and much more. While we are able to recoup some support through income at Le Cat Café and adoption fees, the overall need is much greater. It is only with the help of generous donors like you that we are able to continue to reduce the number of homeless cats and kittens in Philadelphia. You make our life-saving efforts possible. And this year, more than ever, we need your support!

Le Cat Café is in dire need of significant repairs. The cement basement floor at the Café is cracked, soaking up moisture and odors, and continues to break down. The floor and the cement walls need to be sealed off and painted. This is an important but costly job that we cannot fund on our own. We need your help! We hope you will consider making a gift to help GSR and LCC continue the work that we do.

With these capital improvements, our feline friends will have a better experience during their stay at the Café. Subsequently, they will help generate more adoptions, allowing us more room to take in rescues from the streets who are homeless and suffering through no fault of their own.

If you have any questions regarding the work we do, please do not hesitate to reach out. Or come to the Café one afternoon to learn more about us and the needs we have.

Again, we are incredibly grateful for your support thus far and hope you will consider making a gift today.

With PURRRS of thanks,
Kathy Jordan
GSR Founder and President
