Tuition-free! And we want to keep it that way. The Armenian students in this English language summer school do not pay tuition. For the 2018 language camp there were 47 donations totaling $3078 on GoFundMe and 9 donations in cash for $2090, for an overall total of $5168. The donations ranged from $10 to $1500. This GoFundMe campaign supports a 2-week English language school for students ages 12 - 17 planned for July 2019 in Vanadzor, Armenia. Similar programs were offered in 2016, 2017, and 2018. The $6000 will pay for school supplies, school building rent, transportation within Armenia for the staff, and room and board for the staff while in Armenia. The American teachers and student helpers
pay their own round trip airfare, plus they each pay a participation fee of $400 to WIESCO. The school is sponsored by WIESCO, incorporated in Wisconsin as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Since 1984 WIESCO (the Wisconsin International Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization) has sponsored English language summer programs in Armenia, Brazil, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Poland, and Russia.
The two-week program in Vanadzor started in 2016 with 6 American teachers and 90 Armenian students; in 2017 there were 12 Americans - 7 teachers, 5 high school assistant teachers, and 101 Armenian students; in 2018 there were 6 American teachers and 98 Armenian students. A few students have been in the program all three years. Six of the older veteran students served as assistant teachers in 2018. All together we have reached more than 225 individual students, with some students repeating. During the 2018-2019 school year two of our students are high school foreign exchange students in Kansas and Idaho through the FLEX(Foreign Language EXchange program) sponsored by the US State Department.

All the money raised will go directly to benefit Armenian students; there are no administrative expenses. The money raised through GoFundMe will be deposited into a special bank account to be used only for the Vanadzor English-language summer school.
Vanadzor, a city of about 75,000, is in the mountains of northern Armenia, about 90 miles north of Yerevan, the capital. There was a "Velvet Revolution" in the Spring of 2018. The government changed leadership and direction. There is momentum for less corruption, more foreign investment, and improved educational and employment opportunities.
