On Wednesday, January 9th, 2019 Leah Cannon passed away from stage 4 Glioblastoma, a very aggressive brain cancer under the care of the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. She was surrounded by friends and family and her loving mother Karen Cannon. Despite many treatments and efforts, Glioblastoma has no cure. Leah was 21 years old.
In October of 2017 Leah suffered from multiple seizures and was emergency air lifted to University of Penn. She underwent craniotomy surgery in hopes of removing a brain tumor that was found via MRI. Several days later Leah was officially diagnosed with stage 4 Glioblastoma.
She underwent chemotherapy and other treatments to help her condition and in the beginning of April 2018 she had to have a second surgery to remove a large mass of necrotic tissue from the radiation. Her third surgery was December 2018 as another tumor was rapidly growing.
Despite the best efforts of the doctors, surgeons, nurses and staff the prognosis was terminal. Leah was always a fighter, and most certainly a lover of God's word the bible. She will always remembered for her captivating and artistic personality, playful humor, loving and caring spirit, concern for others and most importantly her love and faithfulness to Jehovah God.
Leah Cannon was not only my spiritually sister, but like my fleshy sister..and I say that statement in relation to all that knew her including close friends.
She leaves a loving mother Karen, brother Eddie, sister Nikki and father Ed Sr. They all need all support, prayers and help in this difficult time. Every little bit helps and what you can give is greatly appreciated as the family makes funeral/service preparations.
