Lauren and Ryan

Please, please, please help....

Lauren has has a series of strokes and tia’s. Her first one was 3 years ago and at that time the doctors said it was a fluke and to go home take an aspirin and drink a glass of wine.  Since that time she has been having both strokes and tia’s and thinking ok it can not be one because the doctor said so.  That it’s the way I was sleeping for the numbness or maybe If I hadn’t had that glass of wine, maybe it was the food or maybe I have this headache and memory lapses because I might have to much stress. Then thinking everything that has been happening could possibly be physiological because after all the hospital told her this doesn’t happen to someone in there 30’s.   Silently she just accepted what the doctors told her and tried to figure it out the best she could.

Lauren has gone through the worse of worse....

What happened....

March 30 she went to the hospital again really not feeling good but not knowing why.  They kept her 2 days sent her home. The next day she woke up again with a severe headache she went back and they did a mri to start.  As a result of that MRI they kept her for the next 27 days.
Test after tests, they found a rare blood disorder where her blood attacks it’s own blood cells causing blood clots.  Which they are having a hard time getting under control.  Along with the testing it was found that she also has lupus and RA. The MRI’s revealed she has had numerous strokes and Tia’s.
The lupus caused a stroke in her kidney. And the APS caused the strokes in her brain.
Since she has been home from the hospital she has been back to the hospital for what has been tia’s.

It’s certainly has been a challenge for her and moreso Ryan. He lost his Dad when he was a baby and Lauren is his whole entire world.  Ryan just turned 7 and doesn’t understand why his Mom is in so much pain or cannot play ball with him, or even make it to his games.  All he wants is his Mom to get better.

Our biggest fear is that if they do not get these stokes/Tia,s under control that one of them she will not make it back.....

It’s extremely frustrating for Lauren as she has always been independent and financially secure. Since the onset of this she just wants to make sure Ryan can still play sports and have a normal life.  She hides behind her smiles and tries to keep everything positive for Ryan. She even tries to make light of her hospital stays always joking, always hiding her fear.

She can not work, she’s almost always in pain. The fatigue is wearing her down.  Day in and day out not being able to function.  And all she wants to do is give Ryan the world…her baby boy…
This has been a journey for my second born these past 3/4 months and it is starting to seem it has only just begun…. Doctor after doctor, test after test and for all the blood they have taken they probably could have create another human being.
Thank God she has my stubbornness to not let these health issues break her, but I can honestly say it is very much so wearing her down. And the fear of the unknown…..

Our next journey is hopefully to the Mayo Clinic in Cleveland in hopes they will have a course of action/treatment, as they seem to specialize in this blood disorder.
Please, Keep my beautiful daughter and my oh so handsome grandson in your prayers please ask God to watch over them, Lord knows I have been and have always believed in the power of prayer… prayer for my daughter, prayer for Ryan, prayer for the doctors to find the right answers…
Thank you in advance for all your love and support and may God watch over you.....xoxoxo
