This summer Laura & Daniella are doing a sky dive together to help raise money & awareness for a great local based charity - Fife Young Carers.
Fife Young Carers is a registered charity which support Young Carers aged 6-18 years throughout Fife.
Fife Young Carers plays such an important part into these youngsters life!
They provide a variety of support to young carers from day trips, group activities to individual support & also classes for these youngsters to help them cope with who they are caring for as they may suffer from extreme illnesses. It also teaches them as well as allows them to be children and helps them to mix with other children who understand what they are going through.
A Young Carer is a child or young person under the age of 18 years, whose life has been affected by their significant caring role for a family member who may suffer from one of the following:
Long Term illness, Mental ill health, HIV/AIDS, Physical disability,Learning disability, Drug or Alcohol misuse.,
Research shows that there are approximately 5,000 young carers in Fife alone.
More than half of young carers live in one-parent families and almost a third care for someone with mental health problems.
A fifth of young carers miss school due to their caring responsibilities.
ALL THE MORE REASON TO RAISE AS MUCH MONEY AND AWRENESS AS WE CAN FOR THIS AMAZING CHARITY!
