My mom, Laura Carroll, has been a wonderful wife and mother for the past 20+ years. She has so selflessly been there throughout the dozens of surgeries and procedures I have had—so in return, we must help HER!

Laura came down with what she thought to be nothing more than a lyme disease flare on the week of August 13, 2017. We could never have imagined what we would find out a few short days later. Due to the lyme disease in her body at the time, the symptoms of stroke were missed, and unbeknownst to us, she had a stroke on Thursday, August 17, 2017. She has been at Regions Hospital since August 19 recovering and undergoing intense therapy to regain her right arm function as well as her speech. Those who know Laura know how fierce and determined she is and that she can fight through everything thrown at her! However, we need YOUR help to get her financially back on her feet.

She could not afford insurance and in addition to being out of work, she has significant medical costs.  We are doing everything we can to provide her therapy, medical care, and money towards necessities to keep the house up and running.  We cannot express in words how grateful we are for everything you have all done for us, and we couldn't walk through this journey without you.

Any amount you can give means the world to us, whether $1 or $100. We have been overwhelmed with love and kindness for Laura in the past ten days, and we cannot thank everyone enough. Please follow this page for updates on her recovery!

In kindness,

Sean and Emma Carroll

CORRECTION: My mom's healthcare bills are NOT covered under the study as previously thought. This means her bills are significantly higher. Even if you are unable to give money, we appreciate every bit of love you can send. THANK YOU to those who have supported us, cleaned our house, brought us meals, and/or donated during this time.

Mom is doing okay. She had time with my therapist yesterday and is slowly becoming more aware of her body. She is working more on things like eating, fine motor skills and walking. It's a slow and steady journey - we anticipate she will be off work for three months.

Once again, THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who has been there for us in every way. It means more than you know. You are all wonderful.

With love,

The Carroll Family

A HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated to my mom's page or who are sending their well wishes, thoughts, & prayers. We love you. ❤️

Since coming home, she is now able to rest comfortably in her own bed, which is a huge plus. However, she still has difficulties with speech, balance when walking, and significant right arm weakness. She is currently using a one-handed walker to get around the house.

If you're able, join us at our event for Laura at UW Wanderoos tonight! From 6 to 8 PM. If not, we ask that you donate to this page if you're able, and/or continue to send any good vibes you have our way. We appreciate every single thing you all have done for us, more than you know.

Thank you SO much.

With love,

Emma
