Launching the Badass Art Studio
Hello,
I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro where the weather is warm most of the year. Parts of my childhood was spent in the slums after my parents separated but I have been living in the United States since 1998. I live in the state of Washington now where I own a production company called "Badass Art Studio" with Nathan Steinke. He started the Badass Art Group in the brisk northern hemisphere of Earth in the year 2016 and eventually added me to the team and made me an admin on the group .
Since then our little group has grown and expanded to over 3,600 members. In the process, we started doing a live show every Sunday called, The Night Owl. The main premise of the show is to share artworks from members of our group. A few months later we tossed around the idea of opening an actual physical location where we could produce the show and more important, other artists.
We planned for a year of saving up every single penny to find a studio space…but then it happened. Out of the blue I gained access to a premium space near downtown Olympia, just a few blocks from the capital building!

We have been working really hard to get the studio to where it is now and we’re very proud we will be able to help build artists portfolios in the community. We want to help artists without the limitations of a budget. This is the start of a full blown production company and we are stoked.

But let me ask you, what if Nathan and I could help artists create professional grade productions without costing them a single dime ? Live stream productions? Portfolios? PressKits? Videos?
We can. We have the skills and the will to do so.
We just need the funds to back us up on this legacy.
But how are we going to fund this or make any money by offering free productions?
This Gofume campaign will help us get up to Badass status. After that, we go bigger and join forces with the state to provide regional services all over the country.
Our intent is to first join forces with the Arts Commission of Washington to receive a grant that would keep us running for an entire year in the Pacific Northwest region without ever having to charge any artist we select.
We have already begun working with local artist and helping them build a professional portfolio to help their careers. It's just all coming out of our pockets right now.

That was just me, alone. It was tough running all of it at once but he had everything he needed and didn't had to pay for it. Now imagine how much better the production could be with Nathan here; with updated gear as well.
But the studio isn’t the beginning of all of this. The studio is the future happening in front of our eyes.
About a year ago, when I was invited to join the Badass Art Group on facebook, I found peace, joy and above all I found, Nathan Steinke. The founder of Badass Art Group.
As it turns out, Nathan is much like me; proficient with computers and multitalented all around the board. We also work really well together, so ideas never stopped flowing. The group started to grow. It began to mature. From a website to a youtube channel, from shirts to mugs to live streams and then, the studio.
As of now we have everything we need. Really. We can make it happen with what we got but it won’t be as professional as it could be. Our cameras are outdated and so is some computer hardware. The studio needs a better insulated place for vocals, new carpet and also better electrical wiring on the entire building. Security cameras and alarms will also need to be installed.

This will get us ready. We still need to make funds to pay rent in our homes and rent in the studio but we need your help, so we can help others.
