Laughter in the Park 2017

Aspiring "fake news" monger and actual comedy non-profit organization #NYLAUGHS is looking for some local heroes to help make the 2017 season of our free outdoor comedy series, #LaughterInThePark, the most successful yet! With your donation #NYLAUGHS promises to continue the fight for free public access to the arts by nourishing a sense of unity and optimism throughout this coming year with pee-your-pants funny comedy for the masses!

Lately organizations like NYLaughs supported by donors, government grantmakers (and obvious fashion models such as yourself) are at certain risk of becoming scarce. In a probable bit of sad irony, while a misguided political climate is condemning Sesame Street and possibly evicting its tenants, #LaughterinthePark 2017 just may be in a park Grover, Bert and Ernie now have to sleep in.
That is pee-your-pants
#SAD!
and we know you want none of it!

So before you pee your own pants, dear reader, please pull your wallet out of them. Our hope is to raise $2,000 of our $20,000 goal by May 31 via this GoFundMe campaign.

As an added bonus, charitable donations can be written off! So if next year someone asks you to (ahem) release your taxes, you'll have nothing to hide! Uncle Sam will show you gave your hard earned money to us and not your… comrades.

Remember, not all heros wear capes. Some heroes make donations and pee their pants. We truly hope you are that kind of hero.

OUR HISTORY
========================================
For over a decade, relying entirely on heroic private donations and corporate sponsorship, LITP has brought New Yorkers together while also helping deepen an appreciation of standup comedy in its place among the arts this great city is known for.  Most importantly, we have made the art form accessible to all New Yorkers for free, encouraging a sense of community and goodwill through laughter.  NYLaughs promises to keep nourishing that sense of unity and optimism throughout this coming year... with pee-your-pants funny comedy for the masses.

NYLaughs has been honored, humbled and delighted to present such incredible artists such as Amy Schumer, Hannibal Buress, Michael Che and countless others of amazing talent who support our mission of community through laughter. Our series has presented shows throughout the city, all 100% free to the public.

Our shows have been featured in the NY Times to NY1 to The Wall Street Journal to TimeOut NY.  We've also won past grants from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs and the NYS Council on the Arts via the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council seven times!    We just won a grant from Washington Square Park, too!

So please, reader, answer our cry for support with your heroic donation!   Help us spread our message of “pee-your-pants funny for all” to New Yorkers in all different kinds of pants!

NYC Parks Commissioner Mitchell Silver made his comedic debut on our stage! He later tweeted that "Laughter in the Park" is a great NY experience"!

Hello Everyone!
Just wanted to update you and tell you how wonderful our premiere was last week in Washington Square Park!
I'm attaching pics and a clip so you can see the crowds at the beginning of our show.
Every penny of your donation is being put to work to make this programming possible. At one point, we had nearly 400 present! The Washington Square Park Conservancy sent us an email expressing continued support and gratitude! So we thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Laughter is the best medicine and NYLaughs is offering free prescriptions- great news for the 22 million people losing healthcare! PS- If you know any out of work miners, if they wear their lighted hat, we'll let let them sit up front with our favorite fan with the purple umbrella!

Hi Everyone!

I'd love to extend our gratitude to you for your support of our GoFundMe drive for Laughter in the Park 2017. We are happy to announce that we surpassed our goal! The full amount isn't reflected here since the gift will be arriving separately, but we want to thank you for helping us nourish a sense of unity and optimism in this city and bring joy to all the New Yorkers who haven’t had a tangerine in months or one drop of a White Russian!

Our premiere is this Sunday in Washington Square Park at 2p! Our headliner is "The Daily Show with Trevor Noah"'s newest correspondent, Gina Yashere!

As a GoFundMe supporter, we will have 4 chairs available at the show on a first come, first serve basis. I can also reserve them if you let me know early on.

We can't thank you enough...
We know it’s not Mar a Lago and we’re no “beautiful chocolate cake” but we appreciate you championing our mission again to build community and deepen an appreciation of the art form. #HUGE!
===================================
and spread the word...
For any New Yorker bleeding terribly from a facelift, NYLaughs urges them to come for some healing laughter at LITP and for our beleaguered neighbors whose governor has sealed your beach, LITP has waves of laughter for you, too!
