On Thursday March 23, 2017 in Waldorf, MD my family was struck by unspeakable tragedy. The horror of domestic violence tore our lives apart when my beautiful niece Katrina Goodwin was gunned down by her husband-- who then took his own life along with the lives of their two beautiful vibrant children, LaShelle Goodwin age (17) and Laila Goodwin age (4). Words cannot adequately express the pain we all are experiencing. Our only solace is the knowledge that these angels are resting in the arms of the Lord.
My brother and his wife are at their daughter’s hospital bed side as she fights for life. At, the same time they must face the heart wrenching task of preparing to bury these innocent babies. While we must deal with this trauma right now, we know that the road ahead will be difficult beyond measure.
My family and I are trying to raise funds to help with the expenses of two funerals. Life is so precious and the grief is unbearable.
