God, Our Father, and the Virgin Mary requested our Roman Catholic order when she appeared on September 19, 1846 to Melanie Calvat many years ago, but nobody has carried it out according to the wishes of Our Heavenly Mother.
We, the Minims of God, make the effort to please God in his desire, but we implore him that we remain faithful to his mandate to realize it according to the wishes of Our Divine Savior.
One of the ways we have carried out His will is by celebrating the Tridentine Roman Rite codified by his holiness St. Pius V in the Council of Trent.
We feel a strong apostolic fervor and have the desire to contribute to the teaching of the Christian Moral to those people who left their countries of origin, those who find another culture and different creeds from the ones they knew back home. For that reason, souls have the tendency to lose the tradition passed down from The Church and their ancestors and fall into the laicism. These ideas transmitted to the new generations who are born in this country, grow up without the knowledge of God, the loss of Faith, moral values and without the fear of God.
Additionally, our aim is to create missions, to straighten out the ways of thousands of souls whom have fallen into laicism. We know this is difficult, because these souls are continually lost because of the environment where they live; looking for a better worldly life, they also find the damnation of their souls, absorbed by money, work, and the free rein of the sins of the flesh. Since they have no spiritual guidance, they are closer to the abyss of immorality day by day, lacking the valor and the knowledge of the Christian Faith they received from The Church in their native countries. The ignorance of the eternal truths is all they can transmit to their children and future generations, and we see then as a result, the manifestation of laicism, rationalism, and atheism.
Alas, thanks be to God! In the year 2000, we were able to construct a sanctuary in Bayside, NY for the glory of God and salvation of souls. After nearly two decades, the church has undergone wear and tear, thus rendering it in need of repairs. In addition to repairs, we also wish to renovate the altar for a Gothic-style altar.
With a new and glorious church, we will all share in the delight of being able to worship our Creator with the reverence he deserves. Recall that God's promise to those who are generous, is to shower them with many temporal and spiritual gifts.
We ask you, friends and family of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of La Salette, to help us raise the necessary funds needed to see this project to its fulfillment by the end of Summer 2018.
For those who donate, Our Order will offer our mass intentions for the duration of a year for the well-being and temporal needs of your family and friends.
