My situation has been adventurous, but also complex. I'm from New Zealand and about eight months ago I came over to USA on a tourist visa to be with my fiancée temporarily. Because we found out she had to have back surgery while I was here (an accident at work), we decided it was best I try and stay to provide support. We got married earlier this year and I applied for a marriage visa, which was recently approved.
For over eight months I have been unable to work until a couple of weeks ago, as I was on a tourist visa and I've ended up using most of my savings while waiting. My area is in holistic health with a focus on past life regression and energy healing. I also run a popular online community centred around health and metaphysics; there I have an opportunity to not only reach people through consciousness raising information, but provide the opportunity for others to do so as well.
While I brought with me a light weight laptop with a small screen for travelling, it is getting old and is very slow and inefficient for what I need to accomplish day to day. I'm able to reach and help a lot of people online and because of how important it is for me to have this online presence, work with certain software, maintain my websites, and continue writing and researching, it would make a huge difference for me here in the US to be able to afford a decent computer system.
