Larni Attwoods fight against Lyme

My best friend Larni was diagnosed with Lyme disease 12 months ago after contracting lyme when she was 12 years old, her health has been rapidly declining over the last 2 years. It has gone undiagnosed for so long that it has caused her to have heart valve regurgitation an AV heart block as well as postural hypotension and severe neurological problems.
As well as contracting Lyme from a tick, she has coinfections of barbesia and bartonella, these are also chronic and very hard to treat so her treatment includes treating her coinfections because without this her condition is not likely to improve.
This cruel disease is not recognised in Australia and therefore not effectively tested or treated. Larni has recently been advised that her treatment is not working and that she will need to undertake a more aggressive treatment which will require a nurse to administer antibiotics via I.V 5 days per week.
Due to her condition becoming so debilitating she was forced to give up work due to her ill health. Her IV antibiotic treatment is not covered by medicare so the cost of administering the I.V is $170 per day and then her monthly medical expenses are in excess of $500 per month. This is not sustainable for a mother of 2 who is fighting for her life.
Imagine living each day with chronic pain, fatigue, severe brain dysfunction, extreme muscle weakness & joint pain, this is what Larni faces every day, among many other debilitating symptoms, she is a mother to two young children, and struggles to keep things as positive as possible for them, she is an amazing person, that puts the needs of others before herself, but now is the time for us all to put her first.
I am raising money in the hope that we can fund Larni’s 12 week I.V treatment in Australia with the hope of her being well enough to travel overseas in the future to test for the effectiveness of this current treatment and provide more advanced treatments for this disease.
The money will be used on the initial treatment costs and medications, I, along with Larni & her family would be extremely grateful for any donation you could make.
