On the morning of January 5th, Lance Shipley died suddenly from a massive heart attack at the age of 34. He was my father. My step mother and I watched as they took him out on a stretcher into an ambulance and then to the hospital. Where they were unable to revive him.
My father was a unique man, in many different ways. He enjoyed art, making woodburnings like the ones in his little shop called Burning Wolf Designs. He enjoyed Pokemon Go, and he made many friends along the way, but let’s say he failed to catch them all. He was a bit of a goofball and loved to make us laugh, always being cheesy. He worked two jobs to take care of us, at ACI and the Oxford Bowling Alley, because family was the most important thing in his life. He always put others before himself.
When he died he left behind a wife (Meagan Shipley) (34), a daughter (Savannah Shipley) (13), two sons (Hayden Staggs & Harrison Shipley) (13 & 4), and an unborn son who will be here in early february (Killian Shipley).
His wife Meagan is a stay at home mom who will now be left to raise three sons and a daughter without my dad.
I am writing this to let the world know what a great father my dad was, and to ask for any help anyone is willing to give out to my step mom and siblings (including the one on the way) financially and with funeral costs. We are currently in the process of setting up a “Go Fund Me” page for financial assistance for us.
My father will be cremated and we will have a celebration of his life instead of a funeral, remembering him for the life he lived and his accomplishments instead of remembering him for how he died.
Due to the sudden loss of my dad, my family and I would appreciate any assistance that anyone could offer during this difficult time.
Once date and time for services have been decided, we will be glad to communicate that to anyone interested in attending. My mother Lacey Shipley and I set up this account and will make sure that me, maegan, and the kids are well taken care of.
