Lake Silkworth Volunteer Fire Department, located in Lehman Twp, Luzerne Co., PA was Chartered on December 22, 1943 and has been serving the Community and providing Mutual Aid in outlying areas for 75 Years!
We are a NON-PROFIT, 100% VOLUNTEER organization with dedicated members. Headquartered in our current Fire House since the beginning, but the 1940's structure has most certainly seen it's better day and is unable to house the apparatus that we have acquired over time, as it was literally built into the side of a hill, leaving no room for expansion for the larger, modern-day emergency vehicles.
We as well as nearby communities, have all grown in population over the years, making it necessary for us to grow as well, in order to meet the needs and safety of the residents in and around our Rural Area.
Although we do have fundraisers throughout the year, a voluntary subscription drive, etc., they are not nearly enough to substantiate the needed funds for a new building. We have applied for and rec'd what grants are available to help with start up funds to build (on our own property)....
BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP and are reaching out to EVERYONE!
Our Goal is to Celebrate 75 Years of Dedicated Service in a new Fire House and with the generosity of those willing to donate, you will help make that dream a reality.
NO amount is too small and every tax-deductible dollar is very much appreciated. If you are unable to donate, won't you please consider sharing this?
