The Lady Leopards are currently participating in the PSA Murphy Spring Rec League, and we have had a ton of fun competing.
These girls have worked so hard and sacrificed so much to learn the game of basketball, improve their behavior in and out of school, and excel academically. They motivate me to work just as hard to continue providing opportunities for them to grow.
They want to compete in the Plano Sports Authority (Murphy) Rec Summer League and keep practicing. We need $1000 by May 23rd to register as a team and $700 to cover the cost of renting a basketball court for a weekly practice at Holford Recreation Center in the city of Garland, which costs $65 per hour. I plan to have 11 sessions on the court and 20 more for conditioning and skills development, and these 20 practices will take place in parks where we will not need to pay.
Some of the girls come from refugee families that cannot afford the high fees of registration and cost of uniforms, and other gear required to play organized sports.
Your help is needed, and these dedicated young ladies will much appreciate it.
