Lady Emma's Expensive Surgery

Upon returning home, after her daily walk down by the river with Peter, Lady Emma was found on the floor of the back seat of the car, and unable to walk!  Shocked and naturally alarmed, Peter took her immediately to Peekskill Animal Hopital, where Dr. P. examined her, diagnosed a possible neck injury and recommended that she be taken immediately to a special Animal Hospital in Yonkers.  Following a series of x-rays, MRIs and a thorough analysis of her condition, it was determined that she needs surgery for a ruptured disc in her neck that happens to be pressing on to the nerve.  The surgeon who will operate is respected and revered in his field as is the staff. In fact, we are  particularly comforted by the fact that one of my former students is a nurse in the surgery department! The tests, treatment and surgery will run roughly $10,000.  We do not have pet insurance or do we have that much money available.  Upon the suggestion of others, this "GoFundMe" page is set up to help defray the cost of Lady Emma's expensive surgery which is scheduled for tomorrow. Not a great time to be asking friends for donations, but this is our little dog who we love so much; she is part of our family.  We'll use what we have, but we need some help.  

In fact, tomorrow, January 19th,  is Lady Emma's sixth birthday.  She is a rescue pup from a "kill" shelter in North Carolina and is part Jack Russell Terrier, Whippet,  Bijon Frise and ‎Chihuahua and possesses all of the positive traits of these breeds!  We received her when she was 3 and half months old. Full of enormous energy, Lady Emma loves to run, loves other dogs, loves affectionate and friendly people and she can sit, lie down and stay (for a treat).   She is an amazing puppy.  We never thought we could love a dog like this after Chloe, who passed on in 2011, but Lady Emma has also claimed our hearts and home.   Thank you for your prayers and support.  If you can contribute (no amount is too small) to help pay for Lady Emma's operation, we appreciate it.
