LacPod - University of Minnesota
We are a group of Mechanical Engineering students at the University of Minnesota, and this is our senior design project, initiated by the Student Parent HELP Center and the Lactation Advocacy Committee. The goal of the Lactation Pod (or "LacPod") project is to produce the first full-size, mobile lactation pod that will be implemented at the University of Minnesota to accommodate our pumping students, faculty members, and guests by May 2016. We want to demonstrate its usefulness to gain momentum toward the future production of more pods to help Mommies everywhere!

Working with designers from the Weisman Art Museum and Coffman Union, the LacPod team has finalized the exterior and interior design for the LacPod! The exterior of the pod will mirror Frank Gehry's exterior design of Weisman Art Museum.
The interior of the LacPod will have a wall that displays paintings from the Weisman's collection. We are very excited to see the beautiful design and hope that it will bring joy to those who see it.

"Help support this great cause! Lactating women need comfortable, secure, and readily available lactation spaces. A group of student engineers is teaming up to create a mobile oasis for pumping mothers at the University of Minnesota. They are currently undergoing the design process to produce a fully-functional prototype for the university by May 2016.
