Rape Kits in Washington, D.C.

Hello, My name is Mariama Sesay and I am currently a senior at School  Without Walls. It is a passion of mine to assist those who are victims of rape. As the number of rapes are continuously increasing in all quadrants of this growing city, there is a need for more hospitals in Washington, D.C. to acquire and administer rape analysis kits. In Washington, D.C. there is only one hospital, MedStar Washington Hospital Center that administers rape kits to individuals in the city. Your donation will be given to the District of Columbia Forensic Nurse Examiners, which will be used to purchase rape kits for rape victims in Washington, D.C. 
       DC Forensic Nurse examiners provies medical forensic care for victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and other violent crime in District of Columbia. DCFNE offers documentation of injuries, evidence collection (including rape kits), pregnancy prevention, and HIV/STI prventon for victims of sexual assault. Last year, DCFNE served more than 800 victims of crime.

     DCFNE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
