Help a Home destroyed by Earthquake
Donation protected
A single mother raising 4 children had built her family a home, living a rudimentary lifestyle in El Salvador. Unfortunately last September an earthquake rumbled the earth in her city, and ruined her home. Rainy season comes in April and she needs to fix it or move out before it takes in rain and all the walls crumble.
I got acquainted with Cecy while volunteering at an orphanage run by 4 nuns in El Salvador, and became friends with her. She is a very hard working woman, very welcoming. She works at the orphanage for $15 a day, and has 4 young children and the younger one has heart problems and needs medical care.
With help from the young Rotarians group, we have been able to help provide some medical care and also purchase a freezer for their home. But with no home soon, her future is uncertain.
I am trying to raise money to send to Cecy before the April rains come. The repairs have been estimated to cost $1,500, but a new house, made out of concrete and steel rebar, could be rebuilt for about $2,500.
I am asking everyone's help to make this possible. Any small contribution is welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this and share it.
