Ed Woods Memorial Fund

Donation protected
On Saturday, December 16, 2017, we lost a giant among men, Ed Woods. Ed was an amazing husband, father, son, brother, lawyer, friend and mentor to everyone who had the pleasure to know him either personally or professionally through his lectures, teaching, writing or television appearances. Ed was truly a star in everything he did and was loved and respected by all who knew him.

This loss is heavy on all of us but unimaginable for his wife, Gwen and son, Che. Anyone that knew Ed can attest that he was a devoted family man and adored his son. As the tributes to Ed continue to pour in, many have inquired as to how they can help or be of any assistance through this very difficult time for his family. While a formal scholarship and endowment fund is underway to be set up in his name, this fund is an immediate way to help shoulder the burden now facing his family.

Donating to this fund will provide assistance to his wife and son as needed for educational expenses as well as every day needs. As we are in the holiday season, any amount that you would like to give will be greatly appreciated by his family. Each and every one of us that had the pleasure to know Ed or know of him through his "wood chips" or sayings has been blessed beyond measure and now is our opportunity to rally around his loved ones.

Ed was the quintessential fast talker and mover and shaker but had a heart of gold. He was always there with a kind word, hug or handshake and loved to be in the mix simply "being Ed Woods." He was the life of the party without trying while still maintaining a presence as a legal maverick in the entertainment business. He was our "hip hop lawyer" and everything was up for debate. We know his light will continue to shine through scholarship opportunities for students attending his beloved Hampton University and also Howard University School of Law. Ed was undoubtedly Mr. HU.

Sleep in eternal paradise, Ed. You have left an indelible mark on all of us and we will never forget you.
