Hi everyone! Many of you, like I, can attest that Tyler is a beautiful soul. He is incredibly kind, creative, funny, and giving. While he is so passionate about his art, sadly another injury has prevented him from continuing his work right now.
Close to a year ago, Tyler suffered a concussion while dancing. Initially misdiagnosed, he attempted to continue working until the symptoms and risk of further injuring himself were too large. Being out of work in this country brings unimaginable stressors. For months, worker’s comp. sought to avoid payments. Rent, costs of living and medical bills denied by workers’ comp amounted on credit cards. Because of this, Tyler was forced into getting a lawyer to help recoup funds. This is an expensive process and, when fully paid, workers’ comp pays a fraction of a normal salary.
Unfortunately, on 10/30 Tyler was re-injured, and is facing the same predicament. Again, workers’ comp is fighting to pay him what is due and his lawyer has expressed that he will not receive payment until a court date is set, this could take months. In a time where he should be able to heal, he is wrecked with the thought of not being able to pay rent or buy groceries while living under the weight of debt from this past year.
Tyler has always been an independent, hard-working person. Watching him go through this year has been incredibly difficult and although he wishes to do this on his own, I’d like to remind him that its ok to ask for help and own this struggle.
A year ago Tyler had money in his savings account. Today, the amount reflected here is a sizable chunk of what has amounted over the past year.
Life is hard. We all need some uplifting. We all need help. Anything helps.
