Thank you to all of you who donated and prayed for our precious Kylie. My heart aches to tell you that the Lord called her home this afternoon. She passed away at home with her family.

Kylie Clark is a 25 year old girl who has been battling cancer her whole entire life. At the age of 17 months, Kylie was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma (cancer of the bladder). After being admitted to Ruby Memorial Hospital for sometime Kylie had one-third of her bladder removed along with the tumor and started chemotherapy that lasted around a year. Kylie’s parents were informed that within the first 5 years post-chemotherapy she was at a high risk of developing leukemia. She was also informed that her growth may be stunted and she could have a learning disability. However, Kylie grew at a normal rate and graduated fifth in her high school class.
In the fall of 2010, Kylie started attending West Liberty University as a student athlete playing softball for the Hilltoppers. After completing her first semester and being almost 6 weeks away from completing her freshman year, Kylie’s life took a dramatic turn. Kylie was at her grandmother’s funeral when she began to have terrible head pain. As the headache became more intense, she began to vomit. Her parents rushed her to the hospital. The doctor had told her parents that they found a cerebral hemorrhage (brain bleed). After time spent in ICU, physical therapy, a follow up MRI, and a misread MRI, Kylie was told that she had a parietal brain tumor. The doctors had scheduled a brain surgery for Kylie but she did not make it to that surgery date. She was life flighted to the hospital to have an emergency surgery.
She began chemotherapy and radiation and was able to attend college again. This was the beginning of a long journey for Kylie. After a few years, the brain tumor returned. Kylie had her second brain surgery and more rounds of chemo and radiation. She went back to college but soon after got very bad news again. The tumor and now cysts were again invading her brain. She had gamma knife surgery and it was unsuccessful. She went through her third major brain surgery and it was also unsuccessful. Kylie had hit her limits on treatments. Her doctors met with the family and gave them the news that nobody wants to hear, Kylie is terminally ill.
Kylie is the most positive person you will ever meet and her faith in God is unbelievable. When her parents wake up each morning she is sure to make sure their smiles never diminish. Kylie is a daughter, sister, niece, friend, pug lover, and an all around amazing person. If you can find it in your heart to donate money to help their family through this very difficult time they would greatly appreciate it.
