Help get KYBG to Origins Game Fair

Hello Everyone! My name is Tim and I'm a board game reviewer called The Kentucky Bored Gamer.

I'm looking to raise some funds to use to go to Origins Game Fair 2016 for the first time ever which is from June 15th through the 19th.

The reason I'm looking for help is that I'm a disabled stay at home dad who has made board gaming a HUGE part of my life. Although my loving wife works hard for our little family, I personally have no income which can make it hard at times because I sometimes feel like I'm just taking up space. My wife reassures me this is not the case but one can't help think these things where they can't do much.

Earlier this year my lovely wife, daughter, dad and I got to attend a convention that was roughly 1 hour away calle Lexicon Tabletop Convention thanks to one of the developers and a great friend of a game called Game of Energy . Because of him, we got to see what a board gaming convention was like and it was a lot of fun. I would like to be able to take my family to another one since we had such a fun filled weekend.

You see, like others out there, I suffer from mental disorders such as depression, PTSD and some others as well as physical problems with my back and neck. It makes travelling difficult for me at times and means that my wife is the only driver but I've learned to accept this as well even though it is truly tough to live with at times.

Over the past year I've been learning to come to terms with my disabilities and have been doing what I can to try and help deal with the problems. I'm currently on an antidepressant which has done wonders for my attitude and I have recently started epidurals in my back and neck to try and help relieve some of the pain that I've been living with for years. (If you take look at the picture for this campaign, I picked this one to show because it was one of the first pictures in a VERY long time that I actually smiled in. Years in fact.)

The reason this trip would mean so much to me is because I started doing board game reviews as well as playing board games heavily to help cope with my social anxiety and depression. I'm glad to say that it is working to the point where I feel comfortable around SOME settings and am able to leave the house on a regular basis which was something that was hard for me to do over past years, Sometimes staying home for months at a time.

The funds would help aid in securing a room for my wife, daughter and myself for the 4 nights as well as some of the fuel costs. At no time will any of these funds be used to aquire new games or other items at the convention. I've saved up aluminum cans for the past year to pay for those things.

For the year of 2016, since I felt like I was starting a new life I made a new years resolution to play at least one board game every day of the year. I'm glad to say that to date I've been successful in doing so.

Thank you very much for your time and if you cannot spare anything I completely understand. Every little bit helps and I hope you consider sharing this page.

Have a great day! :)
