Family Loses Youngest Child & Home

West Palm Beach, Fla: My family is devastated by the loss of my little cousin Elizabeth (Link to news article ). Her mother- my cousin Melissa, woke up early to visit our Grandfather at the hospital, who is nearing his last moments. After not ten minutes of her reaching the hospital, she received a call from her neighbor who informed her about a fire in her house.

While she was leaving for the hospital, Melissa left her husband and three young children at home, sleeping. She contemplated taking the kids to the hospital with her but decided not to because she didn’t want to disturb their sleep.

One brave neighbor was able to wake the father up, and they were able to rescue two of the kids, but were unable to find the youngest one, Elizabeth. The fire and smoke was just too much. The fire consumed the entire home, which seems to have started towards the back of the house where the kids were sleeping.

Both kids rescued were severely burnt and flown via a helicopter to Jackson Memorial Hospital Trauma Center , as they could not get the help they needed in West Palm Beach.

Even though the house has turned to ashes, the most unfortunate loss has come with the loss of sweet seven-year-old Elizabeth.

Melissa, her husband, and their children are a humble family. Melissa and her husband serve as pastors of a small church in West Palm Beach and all of them spend their time working hard, helping others, and spreading the word of God.

With all aspect of their lives falling apart, any donations made will help pay for Elizabeth’s funeral and help the family find a new home.

Anyone who does not have the means to help financially, we ask for your prayers in these turbulent times.

We pray for the lost one, for her peace and her charm. Her spirit will continue to live with us. After all, like Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”  Matthew 19:14

Mateo 19:14
