George's medical/living expenses

On Sat Jan 24, 2015 George got up on a rainy Sat morning to start his day. Within the hour his 13 year old son hears him moaning in pain from his bedroom. Paramedics are called and it was determined upon arrival to the hospital his colon had perforated and he was in septic shock. George went into emergency surgery. Doctors worked 2 hours cleaning his stomach cavity. The aftermath of the perforation and septic shock caused many additional problems. His kidneys  shut down and he was put on dialysis, a fever, a heart arrythmia, his blood pressure  After 6 days in ICU he was finally cleared to be transferred to a less critical unit.  Then on Feb 1, 2015 his colon perforated in another spot.  He was rushed into another surgery this time it was a 5 hr procedure to bypass the entire colon.  George is the primary provider for the family. We live a very modest life,  We dont have credit cards or a McMansion but with him not working we are in a terrifying financial situation.  His recovery expectation is now 10-12 months and he is now facing 2 more surgeries.   Your assistance in his medical bills/living expenses no matter how small are appreciated greatly by the family. We have never asked for money this way before but we need assistance to keep the home and the lights on and just get thru the next 12 months.  Please whatever you can do will make a difference.

4 WEEKS TODAY. 2-21-2015 George has been in the hospital 4 weeks today. Its hard to believe what has happened and whats changed in that time. The Dr. That performed his surgeries is calling him him "Miracle Man". He is out of the critical part but now is when the super long journey to heal and repair begins. He is looking at several upcoming tests with the gastrointestinal Dr then a hernia surgery and a bowel surgery that we know of. They mentioned a possible discharge date of this Monday but we learned to believe it when we see it. Thanks so much for everyones support and help with our life change.

George Update 2-13-2015. George is working really hard to get out of the hospital. Tomorrow it will be 3 weeks here. He was able to shuffle down the hall with a walker and standing from a sitting position is getting a bit easier. There are talks about leaving soon but its really still day by day. He is looking forward to home soon. He will be receiving home health care 3x a week. We are still concerned about the next several months. Any donation is extremely helpful to us. Thanks so much to everyone.

George update 2-10-2015. Today was a trying day for George. The CT scan from yesterday revealed an encapsulated infected mass in his abdomen and excessive liquid around the left lung. So he was carted down to have 800 ml of fluid removed from around the lung and a drain tube inserted into his side to drain the mass. So we trudge on hoping for no more surprises but then hope if he has anymore it happens while we are still here. Tomorrow we will work on getting him on his feet and building strength. Thanks so much everyone!!

George Moulton UPDATE 2/5/15: Yesterday we received good news. The kidney specialists says the kidneys are "waking up" and are starting to function, So no dialysis is scheduled for right now. ALSO he came off the ventilator!!
We also made a huge decision and decided to close the business. It seems almost overnight we have been thrown into a different lifestyle and the extreme physical work will not be possible for George for a long time if ever again. We are thinking by Sat we should be out of ICU and on the quieter less critical floor,....if everything keeps improving. We cant believe the overwhelming support from everybody. Thank you so much.
