Hello, my name is Nana Tweneboah Kodua, my roots is in Kwahu Bokuruwa! And I am a proud Ghanaian!
Kwahu refers to an area and a group of people that live in Ghana, part of the Twi-speaking Akan group. The region has been dubbed Asaase Aban, or the Natural Fortress, in view of its position as the highest habitable elevation in the country. Kwahu lies in the Eastern Region of Ghana, on the west shore of Lake Volta. The region is shared with their fellow Akans: the Akyem and Akuapem, as well as the Adangbe-Krobos. A significant migrant population from the Northern and Volta Regions and some indigenous Guans from the bordering Oti and Bono East Regions live in the Afram Plains area. They work as farm-hands, fisherfolk, and caretakers in the fertile waterfront 'melting pot'.
Kwahu is getting more and more popular by the year because it is known as the place to be during the Easter festivities. People travel from everywhere in the world just to come and celebrate the Easterholidays.
Bokuruwa is a small Town where everyone is friendly and kind! The people are very close and family is important!
Last year I visited my hometown which I love so much and realised the lack of Education, Children sitting at home and thereby following the wrong path! Uneducated parents! Even the children that do get the chance to go to school lack educational materials and so many important basic stuff.
I hereby plead with everyone to help raise a fund for all sorts of educational materials like books, writing materials, exercise books, school uniforms, computers etc.
They need support to be able to stimulate education and English in this generation of kids for a better future in Kwahu.
