Hello friends. It’s me again. I had an amazing, yet challenging winter, recording 35 new songs in my home studio and celebrating my 56th birthday with a CD release concert that packed the house in Comox, but continued finding myself in hospital for various complications from this teacher called cirrhosis. Last thing I want to do today is ask for help again, but I am hitting a fairly big bump in the road financially and could use your love and prayers, as well as any financial support you might be able to offer once again.
i’ve been in NIHospital since Thurs. My mom flew in Wed to visit for a week, we had one night at home and then a fever hit with another round of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis, a battle I fought over the last 3 months since my first bout with it in Dec and a urinary tract infection, both likely from a bladder cyst that has been declared low grade, localized and not too aggressive malignancy. Hopefully, all of that was removed. In hospital this round, I had a big flare up with twice my belly size ascites, likely from not being able to void IV saline to get fever down because of UTI? Got all that stabilized, celebrated removal of a not too friendly catheter, but still mega-ascites. and then yesterday, I vomited a small bit of blood, likely caused from ascites aggravating esophageal varices repair I had done in Feb. Not ideal! They drained 6 litres off, which helped hugely, and I’m being treated with big gun antibios bags at a time IV style for the next 10 days and the doc who did banding will repair any damage. Along with amping diuretics, all will hopefully chill this situ out!! Other than, I’ve felt better! But I’m reaching out.

Just so you know, ‘Back from the Brink’ was not financed by your donations, all that energy was given freely by the artists involved in the project. All your donations have supporting my living expenses of alternative supplements and the organic food that has made possible to live with cirrhosis with a far better prognosis. I’ve started a Living with and Rising above Cirrhosis Facebook page, I would love for you to spread the word about, where I’ve posted more details about my struggle with this terrible disease: https://www.facebook.com/todd.butler.1650
A great way to also help would be to buy the new CD from my site: www.toddbutler.com or a couple of songs if you can afford that.
Blessings to you all as you hopefully go through your lives making healthier choices than I did.
Your prayers and love are so appreciated, thank you!
