Kuba's Treatment

Kuba is a beautiful and kind 15 yr old Siamese who has touched everyone's lives. I've had her since she was just a kitten and she's my child.
Earlier this week she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure but has responded to treatment very well. She's feeling much better after being put on medication and having her lung area drained of fluid as well as spending the night in an oxygen chamber.
Her quality of life is really good currently and could stay that way for up to a year. However, she will have to permanently be on several medications to keep her heart working properly and keep the fluid from rebuilding back in her lungs. She will also have to have check ups every 3 to 4 months to monitor her progress.
I want her to stay comfortable as long as possible but that also requires constant vet bills and med refills. I'm looking at $300-$600 every few months at the vet depending on what she needs plus another $100 monthly for her medications.
I'm only asking for $500 because I know I can come up with some of this money on my own and want to take responsibility myself for Kuba's care.
But I am also pregnant, due in February and I'm afraid of not being able to pay for everything once I can no longer work.
I understand this isn't an investment and eventually she won't have quality of life and I'll be forced to make difficult decisions. But what the money is paying for right now is time I still get to have with her and that doesn't have a price tag.
