Help Feng pay funeral cost and rent
I personally do not know Ms. Feng but deeply emphathize for her and hope the community (Chinese or Not) find it in their hearts to help her through this tough time.
Thank you again for all the generosity. The Feng and Wu family is very greatful of all the compassion from strangers far and near.
Some clairifications from previous post:
Elaine Chen is the Mr. Wu's distant aunt. She is the closest relavtive to Ms. Feng at the moment and has been caring for her.
Fang Feng, lives in Oakland with her two kids. She is trying to find a place in San Francisco to be closer to family.
Mr. Wu's elderly mother who witnessed the death of her son is suffering from psychological and emotional trauma. She is currently at a mental institution, unable to cope with the events leading to the death of her son.
The family is trying to pick up the pieces day by day. Ms. Feng is crying less and learning to be strong for her two children.
What transpired to the Wu/Feng family was senseless and as a community we need to ask for change. Help empower residents in Visitation Valley, and other neighborhoods with high crime rates.
As an ongoing effort on my part, I will be joining the Asian Pacific American Community Center in Visitation Valley and continue to help the Feng/Wu family as requested.
Lastly, the family has directly tied themseleves to these donations. Thanks again netizens for sharing this story and contributing to this cause.
Met with Ms. Feng and family today at Hong Kong Clay Pot Restaurant. When I told Ms. Feng how many people contributed and how much the community has come together online to help her and her kids get through this tough time, she bursted into tears, and repeatedly said, "Thank you, please thank everyone".
To all those who have shared, donated, commented, emailed this campaign for Feng/Wu family, that "Thank you" from Ms. Feng is towards everyone of you.
Before heading back to work I told Ms Feng these words (echoing many donors), "On behalf of all donors, we want to say sorry for your loss, it will take time to heal. The community is here for you, please reach out if you need us. Remember to be strong...for your kids, and please...eat something (Chinese saying to be well)".
Group, please keep up the great work and momentum. For those who are in the bay area, please stop by the family's fundraiser next Wednesday at Hong Kong Clay Pot Restaurant in Chinatown SF.
For those who are not local and would like to record a short video message to the family, please email your vine/youtube/box.com uploads to email@example.com.
- Working session with Eunice L. (Wu family) this weekend on handling the GoFundMe account, along with connecting her to all the activist/reporters/donors who've been in communication.

Officially lifting the cap to $20,000 and we are in stretch goals mode! Again rent and funeral expenses are immediate, we hope any excess funds with help Ms. Feng's ongoing matters or potential college funds for her two daughters.
Exchanged email with Eunice Lu (Family member), finalizing decisions on tying the funds directly to Ms. Feng's personal account or APACC's account for Ms. Feng (100% their family's choice). I've met Eunice's mother during the community meeting and ask that I get a verbal agreement from Ms. Chen (in photo with Ms. Feng) before handing over the account.
Spoke with Derek Zhang from Singtao Daily, he will be doing an updated piece and including this GoFundMe account.
Spoke with Rex Tabora from APACC. There is the Chinese 6 meeting this Saturday 2pm in Chinatown and will discuss ongoing efforts for the Wu/Feng family. I will be attending this meeting, and will continue to update the group.
The family members of Mr. Wu (Eunice Lu and family) is putting together a fundraiser next Wednesday, February 4th from 11am - 9pm at Hong Kong Clay Pot Restaurant (960 Grant Avenue in San Francisco, CA 94110) and all proceed will go to the funeral.
Thanks Eunice Lu for reaching out. If you are in the bay area, please stop by and support the family.
Also, I'd like to thank Global Asians for Actions and Social Change who worked diligently to spread the word. https://www.facebook.com/groups/GlobalAsians/420819574738494
Lastly, I'd like to again thank the community, we are almost at $5,000 in 4 days!
Mr. Wu's family members are grateful for all your support and contribution:
"I am a family member of Da Cong Wu. My family members and I really appreciate you spreading the news and helping us collect donations. We are truly grateful. A tragic event has taken place and we are all still in shock...Thank you again for all that you have done. "
Sara, Yes, I sent lots of things. Backpacks among them. It all should have arrived in one, big box via UPS. Everything was "Frozen" themed and came in sets of two; backpacks, crayons/markers, coloring books, dresses, accessories, dolls, toys, etc. I hope the kids received the items accordingly. It was over $300 worth of things, but the amount is irrelevant if it made it's destination to those two little girls. I hope it made them smile. Thanks. Chanse
Hey Stan and Chansey sorry I've been MIA on this page. I handed the page over to the family but want to check in and provide some update. Yes we are still accepting gifts at the APACC location. I personally deliver those to Ms. Fang. Chansey, not sure if it was you who ordered backpacks but thanks a lot. Do you mind sending me another email to the firstname.lastname@example.org with the order details so I can confirm tomorrow.
I know this is kind of late but are they still accepting gifts?
Alright! Well, all the gifts I've gathered have already been sent together. The email address, email@example.com, wasn't as helpful, for I did not receive any responses to my inquiries. That's no problem though. I just hope the shipping address provided is as accurate as can be, for the little girls to receive their gifts accordingly. If at all possible, to please let me know if/when they receive the package, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for all your help in allowing me to send these gifts.
Elsa it is! Will do. I'm hoping to be able to donate on other occasions, throughout the years, for these little ones. Hopefully I can keep in contact. Thank you very much. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Hey Chansey, The family is grateful and happy to take toys and clothes for the 2 girls who again are Elsa fanatics :). Please send any clothing and toy donations to: APACC c/o Feng Fang and Family 2442 Bayshore Blvd. San Francisco, CA 94134
Okay, no problem! Yes, please let me know. Thank you very much for the info and for all that you're doing for them.
Hi Chansey, Apologies for the delayed response. As mentioned in a previous post, APACC has offered their address up for any cards or letters to the family. I will be seeing Ms. Feng tomorrow so I will ask her. APACC c/o Feng Fang and Family 2442 Bayshore Blvd. San Francisco, CA 94134 The girls (as you may have guessed already) are huge fans of Elsa from Frozen :). I will have an answer to you tomorrow and in the interim, please feel free to send inquiries directly to firstname.lastname@example.org.
I'd tried to reach a "Sara B" through here without luck. I was interested in helping with possible donations of clothes and toys for the young girls. Please let me know if someone could assist me in doing so. Thank you.
Sara, thank YOU for organizing this. I know this takes lots of time and you still have your day job.
Hi Sara, I hope Ms. Feng, the children and their family are coping with this terrible loss. Are daily complaints are nothing compared to what this nice family has to go through. Thank you Sara for organizing all this ... you really are an Angel. RIP Mr. Wu ...you will see your family again in another place and another time.
Hi. According to my dad and aunt, turns out he's my cousin. By any chance, can you please give me a quick update on how his wife and 2 daughters are doing? Thanks
Hi Sara, thank you for starting this memorial fund for Mr. Wu's family and providing updates on the latest development.
Hi Derek, Certainly. Please send me a message via contact organizer function on this page and I can send you my email. Alternatively you can reach me via my Linkedin account: https://www.linkedin.com/in/bisara
Hi Sara, I'm a reporter from Sing Tao. Can you verify your identity?
Now that I have a direct line to the family, I plan to keep this campaign up for as long as possible. APACC has helped the Feng family set up an account in Ms. Feng's name so all proceed, every single penny will be going directly to Ms. Feng. Again special thanks to everyone who've shared or contributed to this campaign, KPIX for putting me in touch with Ms. Feng's family, and associations like APACC who are stepping up in this time of need. I'm very touched by everyone's generosity and willingness to bring awareness to this tragedy. There will be a lot of rebuilding Ms. Feng and family will have to do. We hope this little bit will help her in the long journey to emotional and fiscal recovery.
Honestly, keep it up for as long as you can.
How long is this fundraiser going to be up?
Hi William, Can you please send me contact from Sing Tao Daily that is assisting the Teng family?
