Kristy’s Battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer

Our dear friend and colleague, Kristy Johnson Killen (42), has been diagnosed with stage IV triple negative metastatic breast cancer.  She is a mother of two beautiful boys, Jake (11) and Logan (8), a daughter, a sister and an amazing friend to all that know her.  Her kindness and thoughtfulness towards others, always lending a listening ear, always there to help in her gentle way, is what makes her such a wonderful mother and friend.  

Kristy has endured months of chemotherapy treatments, a double mastectomy in July and completed six weeks of radiation treatments in October.  Just a few weeks after completing her treatments, it was determined that her cancer had spread and is now stage IV metastatic breast cancer.   This type of cancer has proven to be very aggressive and resistant to all treatments thus far.  She will be undergoing additional surgery on December 4th.  Currently, doctors are working hard to find a medical plan that will fight Kristy’s cancer.
