Kristin's Cancer Treatment Fund

$19,920 of $46,500 goal

Raised by 192 people in 55 months
Updated 10/26/18 - Thank you for checking out my GoFundMe page!  I am raising funds for natural treatment of stage 3 breast cancer. Life takes a lot of twists and turns.  This adventure began in August 2014 and you can read more details below if you care to.  But here's the latest for those who don't know... after 18 months of natural treatment and three diagnostic tests over 2 years that said I was cancer free.....I was diagnosed again and BAM,  life was on rewind just like Ground Hogs day!! That was spring of 2017.

As a result, I got to work to figure this thing out. Great news, I found a test that not only helps me monitor my progress but also takes the cancer stem cells in my body and treats them with 50 different natural substances to isolate which will be most effective at killing the cancer cells.  This information has helped me design a treatment plan that is unique to me.  This means I'm not grasping for straws and guessing at what might be likely to help. The goal is to drop my number 1 point every 90 days and go from 5.4 -1 or 2.

Fast forward to today. I'm 30 days into the first leg of the recommended yearlong natural treatment protocol. And I can use some help to finish the first 90 days and retest to check my status at the end of December 2018.

Thank you for considering contributing to my campaign.  I have some immediate short term needs that will get me through this first 90 days. Here are some specific ways you can help:

·         $100 for 1 month Enzyme treatment,

·         $50 for 3 months glutathione and detox treatment,

·         $670 for 4 months topical gel to kill localized and systemic cancer cells,

·         $600 for Dr. Visit, rescan and frequency treatment,

·         $375 for targeted supplements to reverse vitamin and mineral imbalances common with breast cancer,

·         $200 for comprehensive blood panel to monitor deficiencies,

·         $1,110 for blood test to monitor progress of protocol on Circulating Tumor Stem Cell count (the goal is to drop one point every 90 days and take my number from 5.4 to 1-2),

·         $100 for Essential oils for topical use (the treatment gel causes blisters and essential oils help to heal the skin during the treatment),

·         $350 for one month with Cancer Coach.

·         $630 for blood test for baseline of Circulating Tumor Cell,

·         $3,500 for intravenous Vitamin C therapy

Your financial support is greatly appreciated, and there are many ways to help.  Please keep me in your prayers as well as consider helping me get the word out about my mission to be cancer free naturally by sharing my GoFundMe page ( www.gofundme.com/kristinscancerfund) with your friends and family.  Thank you so much!!  I couldn’t do this without you!

Please let me know how I can be praying for you!

With much love,
Kristin

Updated 11/20/14 - In August 2014, I went for a routine mammogram, my first. Boy was I shocked when the doctor brought me back to a little office with the radiologist and nurse. There, on a huge screen, was what looked like a target with white buck shot all over it. There were suspicious micro- calcifications and a subseqeunt  biopsy of those indicated cancer. On October 16th 2014, after a lumpectomy to remove the tumor and three lymph nodes, my shock continued when the doctor explained that I had stage three breast cancer. Much to my great relief, follow-up x-rays and scans confirmed that the cancer had not spread to my bones or liver. As a next step, my oncologist recommended the most aggressive treatments: chemotherapy, radiation and endocrine therapy.

In order to help with my decision process, I requested genetic testing of the tumor, which predicts the effectiveness of chemotherapy. My test results indicated that chemotherapy would have a limited impact on my tumor. Therefore, my doctor and I agreed that chemotherapy could be eliminated from my treatment plan. But, he still recommended radiation and endocrine therapy. These treatment options come with the risks of developing secondary cancers, further depleting my immune system, causing lung damage, and inducing early menopause, as well as limiting the possibility of having children. As with every cancer treatment, neither of these options offers a guarantee that my cancer would remain in remission. In my opinion, the risks outweigh the benefits.

I continued to research my options, sought out the opinions of two additional conventional doctors, investigated alternative treatments, and spoke to numerous cancer survivors, who had pursued both traditional and alternative methods. Given my strong personal beliefs around natural healing, I decided not to undergo radiation and endocrine therapy, and instead, pursue an intensive alternative treatment program.

After extensive research, I have found the program that will offer me the best treatment. I have decided to begin treatment at The Total Health Institute (THI) in Wheaton, IL. My treatment plan will include radical dietary changes, supplements, and nine different treatments designed to detoxify my body, restore deficiencies, and strengthen my immune system. Additionally, THI also counsels on the importance of a healthy mind and spirit, which many of you know, I believe strongly in.

Unfortunately, insurance does not cover any portion of the cost for my treatment plan.  The painful reality is that insurance will pay close to a million dollars for chemotherapy, radiation and endocrine therapy, but they won’t pay $30-40,000 for alternative treatments. As a result, I must cover all costs myself. In order to begin treatment I need a minimum of $20,000. Although I plan to continue working throughout treatment and I have gotten strong commitments for support from family I don’t have enough money to begin treatment.  Therefore, I am asking you, my friends and family, to prayerfully consider providing financial support, so that I may begin treatment as soon as possible.

Please know that no gift is too small!  Every gift will be deeply appreciated. My goal is to begin treatment by January 31, 2015.

I am incredibly grateful to the many people who have been alongside me in this journey so far. Your support in the form of prayer, words of encouragement, hugs, rides to doctor appointments, homemade soup, house cleaning, and coaching has been invaluable. I wouldn’t be where I am today without all of your support. This next year of treatment will hold many new challenges for me and I will need your continued help, encouragement, and prayer. It takes a village to survive cancer!

 With profound gratitude and joy,

Kristin

And the journey continues......in April 2017 I was diagnosed a second time with breast cancer and began natural treatment. I had a follow-up MRI January 5th that indicated that the mass had grown slightly. That is not the direction I want to go so I am intensifying my healing efforts. I am pursuing natural methods which are not covered by insurance and therefore I am looking for people to partner with me. Your support would mean the world to me. You can support me with your prayers, encouraging words and financial gift in any ammount. Thank you for your consideration! With much gratitude - Kristin

Hello Everyone! This report comes with much relief. I have reached the 6-month mark, which means the intense part of my alternative cancer treatment has come to an end and I am moving into maintenance mode. I appreciate the enthusiasm and congratulations I have received from so many of you in reaching this huge milestone! There were many times along the way that I wanted to quit such a strict regime.

Recently, I met with my doctor to review my latest blood work. Although my test revealed that I am not 100% healed of the inflammation, imbalances and deficiencies at the root of my health crisis, it does show marked improvement since my treatment first began. Though it can take up to three years of consistency to heal completely, my doctor is confident that if I remain vigilant with the diet and lifestyle changes I’ve made so far I will continue to heal and strengthen my odds for ongoing remission. As I mentioned in my last update, my sixth month mammogram and CT scan were benign showing no new cancer growth. Yeah God!!

As I reflect on my journey thus far, the metaphor that comes to mind to describe my experience is a tsunami. This last year I have been swept along by a huge tidal wave struggling to keep my head above water and survive. Six months marks the tidal wave hitting the beach and signaling the end of the crisis. But, once the wave hits the beach and the water retreats there is immense wreckage left behind.

Now that the pressure of the crisis is over and I no longer have to focus all my energy on the treatment, I can pay attention to clearing the wreckage, grieving, and rebuilding my life and business. Although I continued to work at the Chiropractors office over this past year, the healing process took time away from developing my personal business which was my primary source of income. Although my brain is coming back ‘online’ and I am beginning to focus on re- building my business, the reality is that now there is a significant financial gap and I am struggling to make ends meet.

An additional financial pressure is the cost of repairing recent flood damage to my home. I have confirmed that my insurance will not cover the cost of replacing my flooring and repainting. To make matters worse, my doctor recommends installing a hard flooring surface since new carpeting emits toxic fumes for 6 months to a year and is especially dangerous for my compromised immune system. Unfortunately, hard flooring costs twice as much as carpeting.

I am so grateful that many of you have already joined me in the journey and have supported me through so much of the last six months of healing with your prayers and financial gifts. It is very hard to ask for more help, but I am trusting God for His provision and feel led to ask you, my friends and family again to prayerfully consider a financial gift to help bridge this financial gap. Your ongoing prayers and financial support in any amount mean so much to me.

I want to sincerely thank you for your love and support through this season. I couldn’t have done it without you!

With much love and appreciation,
Kristin

Dear friends, thank you so much for your prayers and continued support. I am so grateful to report that my 6 month mammogram was benign! This means that there is no visible new cancer in my right breast. They will check again in 6 months. Now our prayers can focus on praying that there is no metastasis. We are praying that my treatment is creating a strong immune system and environment in my body that won't allow the cancer to spread. The very intense part of my treatment lasts another 4 weeks! Then I can start thinking about what's next in terms of diet. I won't lie, the restricted diet I've been following has been extremely difficult. Please pray I can follow the plan closely for the next 4 weeks. Also, on a different note, like many people in our area, I have water damage in my condo that will require me to replace my flooring and some drywall. This is an expense I was not planning on so please pray for provision in that area too. Thank you so much for your continued support and encouragement. It means so much to me! With much love and gratitude, Kristin
