Kristen- Mom of 3-Brain Tumor Fight

Donation protected
Kristen is my best friend, and she needs everyone’s thoughts and prayers right now to help her fight the battle of her life.  Her father was diagnosed with a brain tumor in September of 2015. While Kristen was coming to terms with his horrible news, she began experiencing symptoms of her own. Two weeks after her dad’s diagnosis, Kristen received life-shattering news. She was diagnosed with a Grade 4 Glioblastoma brain tumor on October 2, 2015, at the young age of 42.  Kristen is a loving and caring mother of three wonderful young children ages 15, 9 and 5. She loved to do spontaneous trips with the kids and has always spent every second she could with them and her adoring husband, Todd!  Her life has been turned completely upside down. She and Todd are doing everything in their power to ensure she lives to see her children grow up.
As a direct result of the initial biopsy performed on her tumor last Fall 2015, Kristen’s entire right side of her body was paralyzed due to the location of the tumor. Because Kristen was confined to a wheelchair, they had to immediately sell their multi-level house, find a new house to live in, and at the same time juggle trips from Dayton to Columbus for treatment, while trying to keep life as normal as possible for their three children. Over the past year, Kristen has had three additional brain surgeries to remove the tumor and to undergo a clinical trial at the Ohio State University Medical Center. Each surgery resulted in longer recovery periods and time spent at the neurorehabilitation hospital in Columbus for weeks on end, while Todd continued to work full-time and raise their children in Dayton. These surgeries have left her with no use of her right arm and very limited use of her right leg.  Kristen is unable to walk without assistance and still spends most of the time using a wheelchair to get around.  Kristen has not been able to work or drive since her diagnosis.

Kristen and Todd have used ALL of their life savings towards paying down Kristen’s high medical costs. She currently has monthly MRI’s, doctor appointments in Columbus, weekly physical, occupational, and speech therapies, and now bi-weekly chemo infusions, therefore they will incur even more medical costs. Todd and Kristen and would be forever grateful for any donation to help pay for Kristen’s medical expenses. They have spent over $25,000 out of pocket for deductibles last calendar year within a 5-month span. Kristen and Todd are doing everything they possibly can so she can beat this devastating stage 4 brain cancer and be the mom she wants to be for Hayden, Brenna, and Kayleigh.

Donations will all go directly to Todd’s and Kristen’s high out of pocket medical costs. It will help to relieve the stress on this single income family.  All funds will enable Todd to be able to spend more time concentrating on spending as much time as he can with Kristen and their children, together, to fight this devastating nightmare.

Thank you and keep praying!!
