Kristal's Campaign

$23,084 of $10,000 goal

On Sunday, January 7th, 2018, Kristal was at Orangetheory Fitness when she collapsed. She is in critical condition post a significant cardiac event.

We looked at her Fitbit and Orangetheory Fitness summary emails to see what her heart rate has been like in the past. The doctors say her heart has been in great shape. At this time we understand that this event was most likely caused by a couple things. She may have had a slight degree of pneumonia which she mistook for asthma. Saturday night, she used her inhaler. Sunday morning woke up, had an energy drink, and went to the gym. Towards the end of her workout is when she collapsed.

She’s been listening to Joe Rogan’s podcast in between visits from loved ones.

Kristal’s road to recovery will be long and costly. In efforts to alleviate financial burden, our goal is currently $10,000. Our intention is to provide monetary support for Kristal, her husband, Israel, and their two young girls, Angela and Marley. These funds will be used towards them both taking time off from work, medical bills, and future rehabilitation, including unforeseen incidentals and necessities.

We are learning a whole new level of love with the outpouring of support and prayers from family, friends, loved ones, and clients of Kristal.

As her status develops, we will provide updates.

Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, and support.

From Kristal!:

I wanted to give a brief update. I have been home for a little over two weeks now! It has been so nice being at home with my family.

I’m still moving a little slow but I am getting better every day. They have me wearing a defibrillator vest for the time being. My kidneys have gone back to normal function.

Next step will be to get a CT scan of my heart. If they find a defect they will operate. If it is clear, then a permanent defibrillator will be placed.

I just wanted to update anyone that was interested but more than anything I wanted to express my full gratitude! Once I was finally clear headed and conscious in the hospital, everyone started showing me how much support and love I was receiving. I honestly couldn’t wrap my head around how many people showed they cared. Every text message, card, flower, gift, stuffed animal, donation was so much more than I could have ever expected. I had so many amazing people surrounding me, there was not one day/night that I was left alone in the hospital. I want to thank every single person who reached out to me (everyone in their own way), people that came to my bedside and people that helped my family. We had neighbors taking our dog out, dinners coming to the house, our girls getting rides to/from practices. And so many more people offering help. I just want to let you all know that your support, love, and positive thoughts have saved me! I love you all and I honestly cannot thank you enough!

Update #7:

Fri-YAY, February 2nd, 2018 @ 4:45PM

Hi beautiful friends!

Thank you. We are grateful for your support, and it is a challenge to put just how much into words.

It is with the MOST excitement that we get to announce that Kristal has been released from the hospital!!!!!! She is HOME, as of just a couple hours. With her daughters, husband, and pup.

Moving forward, she will be wearing a defibrillator vest to monitor her heart rate for a period of time to determine whether or not there is need for a permanent internal fixture.

Her kidneys have kicked on and are working on their own, but still have more room for improvement. She will be monitored, but the ports have all been removed.

Time to rest, recoup, and recharge.

Thank you for your private messages and comments on updates, we have been waiting for a few things to be determined.

With love and gratitude,
The Fam

We started this journey January 7th. Time has flown and stalled over the last two weeks. Thank you being such an incredible support system.

As we know, Kristal is a fierce and strong woman. This is holding true through these last few days. She is OUT of the ICU!!! Dialysis has been administered several times since last Thursday. Each time with positive results in getting rid of fluids and enzymes lowering.

She has been getting up to walk around, which is helpful for the movement of fluid and building strength. Kristal is without a doubt progressing in the right direction. There is no set date to when she will be released, nor exactly what recovery and rehab will be like for Kristal in this moment.

To acknowledge YOUR support, we’d like to say, THANK YOU. THANK YOUx a bajillion. We set our goal to cover a portion of the road ahead. Through the GFM plus the other events from Israel’s place of work, we are BLOWN AWAY at the truly generous amount of support from friends, family, clients, coworkers, and the list goes on to who has texted, emailed, called, and messaged.

Update #5:

Thursday, January 18th, 2018 @ 6:30PM

Kristal’s journey has been consistently progressive steps forward, and this week her path is full of hills and valleys.

In Tuesdays update, we were super excited about Kristal’s ventilator tubes being removed on Monday. Yesterday, she was re-intubated. There is minimal fluid in her lungs, but there is quite a bit of fluid surrounding her lungs. This fluid is causing a lot of pain in her chest and back. This pain has altered her breathing, she hadn’t slept in days, and she began to swell again.

Her kidneys seem to still be in shock from the initial incident and are functioning much slower than the Doctors would like them to at this point. Another round of dialysis was administered last night and the forth round is happening right now. Another treatment tomorrow, possibly Saturday, if needed.

Dialysis will help her body rid of the fluids surrounding her lungs and get her kidneys working back up tp 100%.

Kristal has been sleeping well since yesterday mid-morning. After last nights round of dialysis, the Doctors noted a lessening of enzymes in her kidney counts. We will wait to see if her counts continue to trend in a positive direction, which will determine the possible Saturday round. She will be re-extubated once the fluid outside her lungs is gone.

Keep the positive thoughts coming her way!!!! Our girl needs her rest. Family is on rotation staying at the hospital with her, during the day and overnight. An essential oil diffuser is being used in her room and Joe Rogan’s podcast, of course. All about balance. :)

Thank you for ALL your support. We hear you and can feel your love.
